A multi-vehicle crash on the I-270 this Sunday night has left at least
13 people injured, including six children. The accident occurred on the
northbound side of the highway between Route 121 and Route 109.
Six vehicles were involved in the crash. According to Pete Piringer, spokesman
for the Montgomery County Fire Department, one person had to be rescued
from inside one of the vehicles. The trapped person was transported to
the hospital with priority two trauma, and is being treated for serious
but not life-threatening injuries. The other 12 victims also suffered
non life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals.
The exact cause of this accident is still under investigation. This developing
story will be updated when further information becomes available.
